Welcome to the adventure of Scouting with Boy Scout Troop 523. The goals of Scouting are to build young men
of character, who are good citizens and are physically and morally fit. It is the sincere wish of all of us in
Troop 523 to accomplish these objectives while having FUN!
In the beginning of every meeting (excluding PLC's), we recite the Pledge of Allegiance, The Scout Law, The Scout
Oath, and The Outdoor Code. Other useful information to know is the Scout Slogan and Scout Motto.
On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
A Scout Is:
Trustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Friendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean
and Reverent.
As an American, I will do my best to:
Be clean in my outdoor manners
Be careful with fire
Be considerate in the outdoors, and
Be conservation minded.
Do a good turn daily!
Be prepared!
Our Troop meets every Wednesday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Our lady of Grace Church. On the last Wednesday of
the month we have PLC meetings which are only for the SPL, ASPL's, Troop Guides, Scribe, Quartermasters,
Patrol Leaders, and Assistants. In a PLC we plan upcoming camping trips and future meetings.
